~ Sweetest things ~

...that have been said and done by my funny valentine...

Feeling remorseful about my rather quick temper and considering it a personality flaw, he said “I think your personality is delicious.”

Wrapped me in his arms, he said “I hurt when you hurt.”

Picking out another Coach purse over my protest, he said “Women need accessories … even someone as beautiful as you.”

Complaining about my no-longer-youthful-body-shape with extra poundage accumulated over the years, he said “Just more of you for me to love.”

With a sleeping toddler between us in bed, he looked over to me longingly and said “Thank you for giving me wonderful children.”

Working out full force on the elliptical machine, he said “I want to look good for you.”

I offer to clean the dishes after dinner, he said “No, you don’t have to do the dishes. Just your company is all I need.”

After a 7-mile run on a Saturday morning in July, I came home to a bathtub filled with mixture of warm water and apsom salt and his tender words of “Take a bath and relax. I will keep the boys out of your hair.”

Reminiscing about our youth and the beginning of our life together, he said in all sincerity, "Life has never been boring with you." and I did take it as a compliment.

He practices social grooming at my request: plucking gray hair from my head; at the same time, assured me that the gray hair was not noticeable at all.

Happy Valentine's day, Mr. D. Thank you for being a better person than I am; thank you for loving me more than I deserve and, most of all, thank you for being mine.
